Baquedano Chile Railroad Musuem

The roundhouse museum in Baquedano is fascinating and I wish I'd had more time to spend there. It's not restored, but rather is basically just left open to the elements. There are all sorts of open pits and rusted remnants all over the place. And yet it is open to the public and I certainly didn't see anyone do anything stupid or get hurt. Here are a few of the better lit shots I grabbed.

Just amazing , I guess with the climate there things stay preserved longer.

No. 3511, same class as the 2-8-2 in the last photo, is marginally operable and kept in a shop building.  It used to be a staple of railfan tours and ran a few miles east out the Ferronor mainline with a few runpasts.
