A wrong way to unload a locomotive
Author: pedrop

Hi, I received this video from friends in Whatsapp list. I do not know where it is, nor when, but sure it shows a wrong way to unload a locomotive from a ship. The crane operators moved the cargo too fast. The men in the ground approached too much to the cargo when it was in the air. They were lucky not to be seriously injuried

Almost looks like straps were used instead of steel cables.  Low bed trailer also seems to be inadequate (length) for this load.

I wonder if it is a locomotive or some kind of track maintenance machine?

There was a similar video doing the rounds a couple of years ago.In that instance it was in Africa someplace ,and was painted orange.
Same result though.

IIRC the same thing happened a couple of years ago when they were unloading one of the new GE's for use in the UK.
They don't bounce very well...

This clip was on another group a couple of years ago.

From memory in SE Asia.

The truck is RHD so that is the former British Empire, Japan, or Indonesia.

Looks like a Japanese built Fuso, but the colour of the actors suggests a country closer to the equator?

From the way the truck is sign-written, possibly Malaysia or Indonesia?

Multiple axle lines on trailers, and no overhang seems to be a disease that afflicts North America, with weak bridges, and blancmange road surfaces.

This loco crossed the Andes over a 14,300' foot pass, overhang is useful for transiting mountain passes. Note the bogie over the goose-neck to transfer more weight onto the drive axles.

Right near the end I heard a cow moo, as if commenting on the episode.

You just have to wonder sometimes.
