You can see some of the "shark-nose" features.

They built the Cockerill-Baldwin 608SC engine under licence. 55 Class 59 with the Baldwin motor built for SNCB in 1954 The 16 metre gauge D18E delivered to Vietnam in 1983, have a "Cockerill 1800hp" engine, so possibly the same, these were financed by the Belgium Government, so had a high local content.
