A raid at Paranagua hill (Brazil

Hi, my friend Rony sent me these series of pictures and small videos from a raid he did today at Marumbi natural park where Rumo railroad has the famous tracks on Paranaguá hill, in the namesake city in Paraná state, in the South. 

1- 2 : Marumbi tunnel

3) The raid starts using a 4x4 in a dirt road through the forest and up hill on a big grade.

4) Then you reach the tracks at Engenheiro Lange station where we leave the car and starts the tracking.

5) The station is under restoration. Tbe first train of the day is leaded by an GE ES43BBi 666....not a good road number. for sure...

6) The big ES43BBi weights 200 tons and was unthinkable at these tracks years ago, when the common power were old GM GT22.

7) a view from below the water tower.

10 - 12 ) A centenary way through the forest starts at  Eng. Lange yard and reaches the tracks again after 1 km, while the tracks do a big horse shoe curve.

13 - 14) The narrow way through the forest takes you to the beautiful Marumbi station and its yard, where we can see old crew houses and also the main office of Marumbi natural park.

I notice some box cars with the engine.  Are there very many box cars on the line?

Yes, that is a busy track for grains and other cargos.

23) The old switchman shelter where we can the the initials of the former RVPSC, the company that built these tracks in the 1890's.
