International Railroad Discussion > ARG @ North Geelong, VICDate: 12/18/19 16:05 ARG @ North Geelong, VIC Author: aussiehinz In November, 2002, an Australian Rail Group (ARG) container train rolls around the big curve on the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) Standard Gauge main line at North Geelong, Victoria. The two ARG "CLF Class" locomotives wear the familiar orange, yellow and black colors of parent Genesee & Wyoming, Inc.

It's called "team driving" and has been going on, legally, for decades. Date: 12/19/19 11:37 Re: ARG @ North Geelong, VIC Author: thehighwayman With the distances some Australian trains travel, through largely uninhabited territory, it is easier to carry an extra crew on the train than to try to get people to live in a hamlet of 15 people in the Outback!

At the time PN did not have enough locomotives or crews to work extra trains in the lead up to Christmas. They ran between October and December in 2002 and sometimes used PN's DL class locomotives as bankers through the Adelaide Hills.
