International Railroad Discussion > It's all green! (Brazil)Date: 01/21/20 16:37 It's all green! (Brazil) Author: pedrop Hi, I took these pics today evening while doing my daily walking: Vale iron cast train C406 leaded by BB40-9W's 1218, 1219 and BB40-9 (former BB40-8) 1006 waiting train C019 aŕrive at EVP yard to departure to Vale EFVM system. C019 usually brings empty GDE class gondolas and flat cars with containers for limestone to be loaded at ENG yard. The yard switchers U20C's seen in the background will take a ride in the tail of C019 to do the necessary switching at ENG to remove the containers from the train. Maybe the GDE gondolas can be sent to EMS yard about 30 km far ahead of ENG.

2) Vale 1006 is a BB40-9 upgraded from a BB40-8. Vale upgraded all six dash 8 to dash 9 in its Tubarao shops a few years ago. 3) The couple of U20C seen far in the background will be coupled to the end of train C019. It was leaded by VLI BB40-9WM's 6038 and 6031. I could not wait for the end of the operation necessary to couple the yard switchers to the end of this train .
