International Railroad Discussion > SD80ACe Demonstrator here in town (Brazil)

Hi, today afternoon I went to EVP yard to get pics of EMD Demonstrators SD70ACe 7044 and SD80ACe 8080. The units were ordered by Rumo railroad to test with grain trains. Rumo wants to use new power to increase the train size from 90 to 120 cars. GE also is building an ES44ACi to test on Rumo system too. So, we will have interesting consist to photograph. For while, only Vale mining broad gauge system (EFC) operates EMD SD80ACe. Vale also operates the big GE ES58ACi. Rumo ordered 100 new GE's (45 AC44i and 55 ES44i). Another order of 150 units will be placed soon and GE and EMD will offer their special models  ES58 and SD80  respectively.
