Hi all,

First post for the year with a collection of images so far. All were taken in South Australia.

1. GWA/ORA's (One Rail Australia) AT26HC-2M, CLP8 in storage at the Dry Creek MPC on 1/9/20.

2. CLP14 at the Dry Creek MPC after having some corrosion repairs completed before going in for an overhaul, 1/9/20.

3. A 75ft long gondola loaded with a 8-645E an 16-710G3C at the Dry Creek MPC on 1/9/20.

Next lot.

1. Pacific National service 6PM6 approaches Nairne with Ghan liveried NR18 leading NR95 on 1/13/20.

2. Aurizon loaded grain train, 3KQ6 from Dimboola in Victoria to Moree in NSW approaches Balhannah with 6007, 6009 and 6004 on 1/14/20.

3. The same train nearing Sleeps Hill tunnel.

Next lot.

1. Clyde built A16C, GM43 turns on the triangle at Port Augusta on 1/21/20.

2. After turning, GM43 waits to depart Spencer Jct yard in Port Augusta with transfer movement 4142S to Adelaide, 1/21/20.

3. 4142S waits on the siding at Snowtown as 2MP5 with NR35, NR8 and NR95 passes through, 1/21/20.

Next lot.

1. Late running Pacific National service 3PM4 approaches Nairne with Great Southern liveried NR31 and NR30 leading NR15, NR58 on 1/31/20.

2. SCT service 6PM9 approaches Ambleside loop at the site of the former Yantaringa station with SCT014, SCT002, CSR001 on 2/10/20.

3. Powering away from Ambleside loop  is ORA loaded grain train, 2182S from Tailem Bend with GWA007, CLP17, G533, G535 on 2/10/20.

Next lot.

1. 2182 powering away at Yantaringa. This was looking the otherway from the road bridge at the previous phot.

2. The same train climbing the 2.2 percent grade through Mt. Lofty yard.

3. Lachlan Valley Railway locomotives 4702 and 4701 on hire to Southern Shorthaul Railroad haul the AK track inspection train through Yantaringa on 2/14/20.

Next lot.

1. Southern Shorthaul Railroad light engine movement, D277 with 4701, 4702 passes through Nairne on a wet morning, 2/15/20.

2. Freshly painted ORA crew van, FDDY03 at Dry Creek on 2/20/20. This was probably the last piece of rollingstock to be repainted with the GWA logo on the side.

3. Diverted Southern Shorthaul Railroad empty grain train 1SK3 from NSW to Victoria nears Callington with SSR102, SSR101, RL306, 4911, RL301 on 2/24/20.

Next lot.

1. ORA empty grain train, 5AQ7 from Dry Creek to Bowmans (for loading) then to NSW waits in the siding at Long Plains with GWA003, G533, G535, GWU008 on 3/5/20.

2. ORA intermodal service, 3DA2 passes through Long Plains with GWA001, ALF20, GM43, 2207 on 3/5/20.

3. A Pacific National BRS class crew car undergoing refurbishment at Islington Workshops on 3/10/20.

Nice images!  It looks like there are two crewmen on the trains I ould see in the front window.  Are all Australian trains still using two crewmen up front?

1. EMD J26C, 2210 waits to depart Dry Creek with transfer movement 1131S to Islington Workshops with a couple of wagons for storage on 3/11/20.

2. AQKY6 loaded with four GE, 7FDL16 engines.

3. AQCY 30393 loaded with three EMD 16-645E3C engines.

1. Southern Shorthaul Railroad's GM22 leads privately owned 42103 on the AK track inspection train as it passes Dry Creek North yard on 3/11/20.

2 & 3. 8238 and 8235 assist with loading Pacific National grain train 6GA3 at Bowmans on 3/14/20.

Next lot.

1. SCT connector service, 6GA1 from Parkes to Adelaide with leased CFCLA units GL107, VL351 passes 6GA3 at Bowmans on 3/14/20.

2. Loaded ORA ore train from Wirrida to Adelaide, 9102S with GWA010, GWA009, GWA004 passes 6GA3 at Bowmans on 3/14/20.

3. PN service 7MP7 passes 7AG4 with 8235, 8238 at Bowmans on 3/14/20.

Next lot.

1. ORA intermodal service, 3AD1 with GWB103, ALF24 waits on the main line at McLeay on 3/18/20.

2. The last Overland passenger train from Melbourne to Adelaide for now, 7MA8, passes a run down Balhannah station hauled by NR39 on 3/2420. More funding has been secured from the Victorian government by Journey Beyond Rail to keep this service running for now when services re-commence later this year.

3. ORA empty grain train to Wolseley, 1283S waits at Keith in foggy conditions hauled by GWU008, CLP17, FQ02, GWA003 on 3/31/20.

Next lot.

1. Coming out of the thick fog, SCT service 2MP9 with CM3306, SCT003, SCT015 crosses 1283S at Keith on 3/31/20. CM3306 is on hire to SCT from CFCLA.

2. NR90 and NR74 pass through Wolseley with 7PM5 on 3/31/20.

3. Fresh out of overhaul, ALF18 undergoes testing at the Dry Creek MPC on 4/3/20. The unit is now in the paint shop.

1. 8256 and NR121 wait to depart Gladstone with 6AG4 loaded grain train to Parkes on 4/3/20.

2. Pacific National units G526 and AN8 stabled at Tailem Bend on 4/6/20.

3. NR51 and AN2 approach Mt. Barker Jct with 1PM6 on 4/8/20.

1. SSR's G514 departs Mt. Barker Jct with 2M72S rail train on 4/8/20.

2. ORA empty grain train, 1281S to Tailem Bend passes through Bridgewater with GWA008, G535, G533, GWU003 on 4/8/20.

3. Extra SCT service, 3MA1 from Melbourne to Adelaide passes through Yantaringa with MPI built CM3306 leading CSR009, CSR001 on 4/8/20.

Nice images!  Do all the Australian trains use two crewmembers up front?

Last lot.

1. SSR hauled rail train 2M72S passes through Yantaringa hauled by G514 on 4/8/20.

2. Recently return to service after nearly 3 years in storage, CLF5 leads G535 on 1451S empty grain train to Bowmans as it waits to depart Dry Creek North yard on 4/24/20.

Thanks Randy.

Most trains do use two crew members although there is quite a lot of driver only operation around Australia.

Thanks Uncle Joe.

The horns don't bother most crews where they are placed and they are not too loud in the cab on modern units.
