International Railroad Discussion > Vandalism or terrorism? ( Brazil)Date: 05/19/20 16:41 Vandalism or terrorism? ( Brazil) Author: pedrop Hi, a big derailment happened on Rumo narrow gauge system in Apucarana, PR on Monday 18. The news says it was a "vandalism act" of somebody who fitted a pice of rail in the gap of the expansion joint. Fortunately, the crew scapped without serious enjuries. I thing this is not a vandalism act, but something more serious, like a terrorist act.

( Brazil) Author: Hartington Terrorists usually want to make a point for their "cause". That means that someone will issue a message to the press or radio news or TV news claiming responsibility and saying why they believe this act will further their cause.
Have their been any claims of responsibility for this or any other acts? Vandals, on the other hand, are simply out for mischief. They may even see their act as "fun" (for them). They will kep quiet because they don't want to be caught. |
