A number of years ago Ferronor,  the operator of two meter gauge segments of the northern Chile network,  purchased a number of former Queensland Rys G26Cs.  All were stored at Baquedano and to date, at least four have been rebuilt at the shops there.  Two of these were sent south to the iron ore line based in Vallenar.  Here are photos of the pair taken in August 2018.  The loco numbers are the original QGR numbers.

1.  No. 2213D  at Vallenar shops.

2.  No  2178D  nearing Vallenar.  The trailing unit is former Alaska Railroad GP49 2808,  now on C-C trucks.

3.  No 2178D  at Maitencillo on the way to the port at Hausco where the ore will be loaded onto ships for export.

Those are SO SMALL compared to the ex-Alaska GP49s! Love it :)

Two meter gauge is about 6'-6 3/4" or broad gauge!

Oh, two (segments) of meter gauge track. Even with the word "segments" after "gauge," it took me a minute to figure this out.

Alan, how about shots of the locos stacked in a long line on the old hardstand by the cemetery?

Will have the Queensland's creaming their jeans.
