International Railway Stations Part 4
Author: andersonb109

Not run out yet. This is the Tazara Station in Dar es Salaam.I arrived there on Rovos Rail in both 2007 and 2012.  It was clearly overbuilt for traffic that never materialized. The Tazara Railway runs from Dar through Tanzania and parts of Zambia until the ZR takes over. It was built to a high standard by the Chinese. Tunnels look like those on Jing Ping Pass. Thus the locals have lots more bicycles and brooms than other parts of Africa!  On my second trip I found that infrastructure conditions had deteriorated substantially since my first trip in 2007. Sadly that's typical for much of at least the parts of Africa I've seen with a few notable exceptions.

May have been over built but it is an attractive structure.
