Hi all,

Some recent images from me over the last couple of months.

1. Southern Shorthaul Railroad units GM27 and 442s2 haul the AK track inspection train through Yantaringa, South Australia on 6/12/20.

2. The next day sees the return of the two SSR units as they return light engine back to Victoria as train D177S. They are captured having not long passed through Mt. Barker Jct, S.A. on 6/13/20.

3. Loaded maganese ore train, 5MD3 from Muckaty to Darwin in the Northern Territory arrives on the crossing loop at Union Reef in the N.T. hauled by GWA007 and FQ02 on 6/19/20.

Next lot.

1. Southbound intermodal service, 6DA2 with GWA003 and ALF19 waits on the crossing loop at Union Reef, Northern Territory as northbound intermodal service, 4AD1 with GWA008 and ALF24 passes through on 6/19/20.

2. Intermodal service, 6DA2 with GWA003 and ALF19 waits on the crossing loop at Chandler, South Australia on 6/20/20.

3. Adelaide to Darwin intermodal service, 6AD1 with GWB102 and FQ03 approaches Chandler on 6/20/20.

Next lot.

1. Empty One Rail Australia ore train, 1901S from Dry Creek to Wirrida passes through Long Plains, South Australia with GWA006, GWB103 and GWA004 on 6/21/20.

2. SCT's CSR008 and Pacific National units G538 and G526 stabled in Tailem Bend yard awaiting their respective trains to be attached to as extra power over the Adelaide Hills with its 2.2% grades. The Wurtun sign is part of an old locality in the Tailem Bend yard, 6/26/20.

3. Southern Shorthaul Railroad's SSR102, C504 and SSR101 have not long arrived in the yard at Wolseley, South Australia with 7743V empty grain train on 7/2/20.

Next lot.

1. Pacific National locomotives NR73 and NR17 haul intermodal service 2PM5 through Wolseley on 7/2/20.

2. SSR's SSR102, C504 and SSR101 shunt Wolseley yard on 7/2/20.

3. Pacific National units 8050 (Comeng-ALCo), G530 (Clyde-EMD) and SCT's SCT009 (EDI Rail-EMD) stabled in Tailem Bend yard ready for their respective banking jobs on 7/3/20.

Last lot.

1 & 2. Another two shots of SCT009, G530 and 8050 stabled in Tailem Bend yard on 7/3/20.

3. GWA005 and ALF19 pull into the crossing loop at Chandler with 7AD1 on 7/12/20.

Nice series. I like how the second trailing unit in photo one almost looks like a "B" unit for the first. Your photos always prompt me to take a trip to wikipedia and google maps to explore the area.

Very interesting as usual sir .I may never get down there to see these railways but these pictures give me a great perspective of Aussie railways...

Nice pics! 
I was lucky enough to be on the Indian Pacific's 50th which was quite an experience - I got some cool pics, including some of the drone pics - you can see some of them here but happy to post more!

Thanks everyone.

And the answer to the question is close to there are about 20 'bulldogs' left in service at present with further units under repairs or preserved operational. Following that there are just over a dozen more stored around the place.
