International Railroad Discussion > Vale train M549 on way to Bahia (Brazil)Date: 08/14/20 09:16 Vale train M549 on way to Bahia (Brazil) Author: pedrop Hi, today I met Vale empty ore M549 on its way to EPM yard where the big Dash 9 will be changed by three tiny U20C and head to new ore mine in Bahia state. The mine belongs to Bamin - Bahia mining Co. where Vale has thirty percent of the business. The Vale part will come to its system using VLI tracks linking Minas Gerais to Bahia and other distant areas. That line is not good, with light rail and bad ballast, so these trains will be a challenge to VLI crew. It is the first time the GDE ore cars will be headed to Bahia. The loaded train will come back on monday 18. Engineers friend of mine in that area will provide more picture to us soon.
Pictures taken today morning here in town at Km 629. Enjoy Pedro Pedro Rezende Vespasiano MG, Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/14/20 09:18 by pedrop.
