Macabre Intermodal Footage From the Soviet Union

Recently released Cold War era Soviet propaganda film about the test detonation of "Tsar Bomba", the biggest hydrogen bomb ever detonated.  First 5 minutes or so includes quite a bit of rail related footage.  A true intermodal trip, using both rail (with steam!) and special duty highway trucks, with a straddle crane making the transfer.

And if you want to see the blast, that's around 22:30 or so.

It is posted on YT by a couple of other sources.  Very informative, many minutes showing Russia's big "Bear" intercontinental bombers in flight.

The US and Canada have been doing a lot of "escort service" this year. It's almost back up to Cold War levels.

The Russkies ran a few US soldiers off the road in Syria this week.

The GIs should be grateful Putin hasn't put a bounty on their lives.
