Pedro, In another post you say Vale wanted more ES44ACi engines.  Are they wating to retire the smaller engines?

Hi, yes Vale intends to retire all G16, G12, BB36-7 and DDM45, and sell 100 old dash 9. They will be replaced by new ES44ACi with BB trucks and the Progress Rail electric yard switchers.

That is a bunch to get rid of.  How many engines does Vale have?

I thought Vale was going with SD70ACe-BB's? Are the new GE's the ES43BBi or a full size ES44 on BB trucks?

Thanks as always Pedro!

Vale liked the SD70BBs but they preffer GE.
We do not have details about the new model for while. I imagine it will be full size ES44 since Vale mainline accept all kind of locomotives.
