Broad & narrow gauge at EVP (Brazil)
Author: pedrop

Hi, today morning I found MRS coal O781 crossing with VLI limestone C764 here in town. Two nice trains. I will add video and pics of VLI train in other thread soon. For now, pics and video of the MRS train. Unfortunately, I turned off the video mode of my cell phone while MRS train was running in the yard. It is a bit difficult to see controls in the screen of the the cell phone under sun lights.

Thanks for another interesting look at your backyard Pedro. Quite a difference in size from the coal train power and the narrow guage power.

Yes thanks for you continued posts, and interesting operation at EVP.  In Brasil are the RRs owned by the goverment or are they private, and if they are private which company ownes the lines in the videos.  Thanks.

The railroads are privated, but the tracks are owned by the goverment. The company names are what we see painted in the locomotives: VLI, Vale and MRS. They got the rights of operation for thirty years, starting in 1996. VLI manage the railroad to FCA, the company that has the rights of operation. In 2026 the companies can renew the rights for more thirty years. Vale and Rumo have already done it this year. They antecipated the renew to ensure the investments they are doing in their business.
MSR Logistica
Rumo Logistica
FCA - Ferrovia Centro Atlântica
VLI - Valor da Logistica Integrada
Vale mining.

What I like is the background in your shots.
Gives me and idea of were you live.
Wish I could visit.
