Crew change at Hazawa-Yokohama-Kokudai station
Author: Hiroshi

A train from Shinjyuku operated by JR came to stop at Hazawa-Yokohama-Kokudai station.
A crew from Sotsu will take over and continue its journey to Ebina.

Nice catch of the Sotetsu Class 12000 EMU!

As usual, your seemingly "simple" post is loaded with information for people willing to research:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sotetsu_12000_series

There are links to follow within the English wikipedia article that goes in depth regarding this new service that started last November. People who can read Japanese will go even more in depth, for example, that this new service traverses 5 different routes, including what used to be a segment that was considered "rare mileage."

Nice and clean,no trash and air conditioned.
Compare that to the dirty and dark Penn Station.

A 15+ minute travel brought me to JR East Musashi-Kosugi station.
Sotetsu (Sagami Railway) and JR East pool their EMUs to run this service.
Here is a photo of JR East's class 233 7000 series which has been assigned to this pool service.
Class 12000 and Class 233 share the same car design, but respective finishing tough is different to reflect each rail's taste.

Hiroshi-kun :

「創通」は「創通」の略ですか?(Is "Sotsu" the abbreviation of "Sotetsu"?)

2472Don-san:

”Sagami Tetsudo Kabusikigaisya” or ”相模鉄道株式会社” is the offical name for ”Sotetsu” or ”相鉄.”

When we make an abbreviation we put together ”相(So)” and ”鉄(Tetsu).”
"Sagami" stands for the name of the region where the railway serves and "Tetsu" means iron.  Or "Tetsudo" means iron rail.

Here is the link to the official Sotetsu home page:

Hope this helps,

Hiroshi
