And when were they originally built?

I have never seen any pictures of the US built units still in the US prior to exporting. This also makes me wonder if GE had the proper gauge track to allow testing of them at Erie. And also interesting that they were still building them after the Dash 7 series had been introduced. Perhaps the U series locomotives were cheaper, or maybe just standardization with the rest of the fleets that already were working.
