International Railroad Discussion > Crossing Maraba bridge (Brazil)Date: 01/05/21 15:10 Crossing Maraba bridge (Brazil) Author: pedrop Here it is a link to an old video of friend Fernando Cunha (Vale engineer) crossing the biggest bridge of Vale mining in its Carajas rwy. Vale will start the duplication of this bridge this year, in a five years project. It is one of the last not duplicated in EFC rwy.

Date: 01/06/21 12:17 Re: Crossing Maraba bridge (Brazil) Author: pedrop I really do not know why they changed the direction of the lanes. The video in the link below shows the construction of the bridge in a time line made by old pictures. Note that the original bridge was for train only and Maraba city did not exist at that time. Maraba was a village for employees during construction of the railroad. I imagine they built one lane in dual direction and then the second lane, so the direction of the lanes was easy to be built in this way we see nowadays.
