Hi, as mentioned in my thread  https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?6,5179758 there was a derailment at Km 845, about 220 Km far from here. VLI is sending a Vale mining Takraf crane and its own Kirow crane to clean the wreck site. Vale train S021 passed here before  sun rise and I could not see it, but VLI train S312 arrived here at 5:30 AM and I could follow it a bit taking pictures and videos.  Here they are:

1) VLI BB40-9WM  6187 arriving at EVP yard  with special train S312.
2) Kirow crane
3) The train entering the yard.

Nice series and video of the VRI work crane train. Good look at the Kirow crane.

VLI has two narrow gauge and one broad gauge Kirow. It also has some Takraf and Orton cranes too.
Vale mining has one broad gauge Kirow at Carajás railroad (EFC). The narrow gauge Vitória a Minas (EFVM) has one Takraf crane.

The broad gauge crane is much bigger. I will try to provide pictures of it.

Great coverage Pedro.  Will they swap power for the rest of the trip?
 

Yes, from EWL yard ahead, only U20C or smaller engines are accepted. EWL is about 20 km from here.
