The new FTT class cars for Bracell (Brazil)
Author: pedrop

Hi, Greenbrier / Maxion is producing FTT class cars to carry cellulose made by Bracell. They are broad gauge and will be operated by MRS railroad. Bracell also ordered some AC44i's from Wabtech of Brazil.
A video of Greenbrier / Maxion can be watched here www.facebook.com/GreenbrierMaxion/videos/438911934200001/

Is the Cellulose in packages or bulk?  How is it loaded and unloaded on the car?

It looks like a hooped roof covered by a taurpalin. This would allow all but a small portion of the car length to be uncovered.

Most the time the cellulose comes in big rolls that are loaded and unloaded by forklifts. That's why these flat cars have canvas protecting the cargo. Bracell plant is not producing cellulose for while. The plant is new and almost ready to start operations. Other cellolose factories developed a new type of cellulose called "solvable" that can be sent in containers. A new plant is being built anout 400 km from here by specially to produce solvable cellulose, that will be served by VLI railroad.
