It runs between Point Noire and Brazzaville, about five hundred kilometers, bypassing the rapids on the Congo that render the river impassable. The railway was built by the French in the early 1900's, using forced labour from neighbouring African countries.

I would love to have a shot of the power, but you have to be careful where you take pictures around here.
