..train motormen carry their own air brake handles on some routes  this is in Hiroshima suburban service

Hiroshi i would like to see if we can translate these signs thankyou

ageing infrastructure but the trains still run perfect to time

Ichibata electric unit driving station, from another era but is perfectly operational

and time for a comfortable seat that perhaps has been in use for 60 or more years

Very nice photos!  Were were photos #15 and #16 taken?  Was it a switchback to get up and over a ridge, or a junction of two lines?  Do you have any "train" photos from this trip that you can share with us?

yes i remember these were on the Kisuki line the switchback is located at the station at Izumo Skane  

here are more from this trip 

there were only 2 other passengers on the train the whole time for the 2 or more hours run
