International Railroad Discussion > When you gotta go...Date: 05/21/21 04:45 When you gotta go... Author: Ray_Murphy Date: 05/21/21 05:29 Re: When you gotta go... Author: Korigaoka1811 I lived in Japan for 10 years and from what I learned of the place this story doesn't surprise me. I sympathize with the engineer but rules are very inflexible in Japan. In the case of "unexpected events" such as an engineer with probably a stomach virus (or a global covid pandemic) there are no contigency plans. I hope he and the conductor don't get fired/sacked.
John Date: 05/21/21 08:15 Re: When you gotta go... Author: FiveChime I became the engineer of a RDC on BC Rail in 1986 when the hogger had to do the same.
When the conductor found me in the hogger's seat, he was not at all happy! Regards, Jim Evans Date: 05/21/21 17:48 Re: When you gotta go... Author: tomstp What's that old saying? When ya gotta go, ya gotta go.
