Express train E231 here in town (Brazil)
Author: pedrop

Hi, today morning I could watch two empty trains crossing at EVP yard here in town. Broad gauge MRS empty train for cast iron O681 arrived first and waited for narrow gauge VLI express train E231 with empty containers for Brasken plastic canvas. These are simple trains but I like them a lot. Nice to see some different road numbers of VLI U20C fleet. The same for MRS units.

1) MRS O681 waiting next to Liz Cement Co.;
2) For a long time we do not see trains inside Liz Cement factory. Most of cement production leaves the plant by trucks nowadays;
3) VLI E231 arriving in EVP yard.

4) VLI 2683 and 2508 did a long journey from Aratu port in Bahia to my town (about 1,600 km);
5) Crossing with MRS O681;
6) Flat cars with empty containers for Brasken plastic canvas.

7) More containers;
8) The end of VLI train;
9) The video.
That's all for today. Tomorrow I will post the photos and video of MRS train leaving the yard.
Hope you like the thread.

Hi Pedro,
I have a question, what is the small pile of brush at each end of the trailers?

Hi, those are tree branches that the train collects along the way to Bahia. I ensure you that those piles are there for more than three years and will be there until the cars enter for repair in a shop. Each travel the pile is becoming bigger and bigger. For sure there are some spides, scorpions or small snakes there. I remember sometimes ago that some big spiders with the size of my hand arrived here in town by the trains. They came from the mountains along the Vale mining branch that comes to my town.
