The local going backwards (Brazil)
Author: pedrop

Hi, last Thursday (2) I watched the local taking gondolas loaded with steel coils here in EVP yard and going backwards to Multitex Terminal in ENG yard. Here are some pictures and a video.
1) The yard man climbs in the rear end after the train pass by the grade crossing;
2 - 3) Four U20Cs take the consist backwards to ENG yard, about five kilometers from EVP.

7) The video. The U20C's stopped at mainline after leave EVP yard while the engineer returns the switching machine to track 2 again. This is the normal position to the trains coming through EVP to ENG. BTW, I like the sound of their air compressors.

That's all for today. Thanks for watching.

Interesting backup move with the four U-boats, always like their chugging sound.. The yard man had a long backup ride at a rather fast pace.

Is that a safety harness? I haven't seen that before.

Yes, it is. Very common here. The employees says it is a bit heavy, but it is safe and provides a confort position while witching cars in the yard.
