International Railroad Discussion > Fepasa Chile Brazilian SD40 actionDate: 10/20/22 11:58 Fepasa Chile Brazilian SD40 action Author: masterphots Fepasa purchased three SD40s from Progress Rail and they entered service in June. They don't like look an SD40 but that's what's stamped on the builders plates. Here are a few photos of 3308 and 3309 on the eight miles between Colmo and Carolmo, Chile. This a short segment of the line between Llay Llay and the smelter at Ventanas on the coast.
On July 19. 2022 the following three photos are of 3308 westbound with a train of copper cathodes headed for export at the Port of Ventanas. The copper originated at Codelco's El Teniente mine, located near Rancagua, about 50 miles south of Santiago. ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 10/20/22 12:02 Re: Fepasa Chile Brazilian SD40 action Author: masterphots July 28, 2022 found 3309 eastbound with copper concentrate empties returning from the Ventanas smelter. The train will terminate at the Las Blancas loadout a few miles west of Montenegro, Chile. Over El Tabo pass, a head-end helper will be added to the train.

I love that radiator section and have no idea what's going on with it. Crazy. Date: 10/20/22 15:52 Re: Fepasa Chile Brazilian SD40 action Author: pedrop Beautifull pictures. I imagine Progress Rail cut the frame of these strange creatures.
