"Momotaro" or Peach Boy, a folk hero. That's also the nickname for the Class EF210 electric locomotive. That particular marking is relatively new design from 2020. Older markings would just say "JRF" or "JRF" with "Momotaro" in kanji, no Momotaro cartoon character.

Here is the follow-up story behind:
In the early 1990s, the Class EF65 electric locomotive under 1500 volute DC catenary became 30+ years old equipment.
JR Freight, which inherited many of these motors, has been working to extend its life by upgrading the components.
To increase the whole transportation capacity, the class EF200, with a rated output of 6,000 kW per hour with 1,600 tons of towing was introduced in March 1990.
However, the originally planned 1,600-ton traction could not be achieved due to problems with the power supply capacity of the substations along the system.
 
Under these circumstances, JR Freight was forced to change its strategy, and a new engine, Class 210, was developed as a successor to the class EF65 and EF66.
It was designed to operate 1,300-ton container freight trains on the Tokaido and Sanyo Line systems.
 
The locomotives are built at the Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) facility in Kobe.
The first batch of EF210s was assigned to the Okayama engine facility in 1998.
 
The nickname was formally adopted for the first time in a JR locomotive.
As a result of public recruitment, it was named "ECO-POWER Momotaro" because it is a "power-saving high-output machine assigned to the Okayama engine facility" around the end of 2020.
(There is an old Japanese tale of “Momotaro” (Peach-boy), who got rid of evil demons in the Okayama area.  People usually associate Okayama with the “Momotaro tale.”)
 
Today, assigned at Okayama, Shin-Tsurumi, and Suita (Osaka) engine facilities, they are primarily used on freight on the Tokaido Main Line and Sanyo Main Line, replacing Class EF66 locomotives, a.k.a, EF66 killer.
As of Sept. 2022, 139 EF210s were operated by JR Freight,

Thank you for the translation.  If I could make a request of JR Freight, I would next ask for a Doraemon locomotive --  not as traditional as Momotaro but I've always been a Doraemon fan.  Or maybe Totoro?

I think that's as close as one gets to a Doraemon locomotive, compliments of JR Hokkaido. There are Doraemon-based trains, the Doraemon Tram of Manyo Line in Toyama, and EMUs with Doraemon wrapping by Odakyu and Seibu Railways in Tokyo, and Kintetsu Railway in Osaka.

JRF loves the image of strength. EH500 locomotives are nicknamed "Kintaro (金太郎) or 'Golden Boy'," another folk hero of superhuman strength, based on a real person during the Heian Period, about 1000 years ago. So I don't expect them to use the Doraemon name, unless it's gadgety.

A good ole steamer (UK-made 2-4-0) and an antic coach are displayed in a hotel lobby just across from the Sakuragi Cho Station.

Looks like JRE (JR East) is celebrating the 150th Anniverary of Railroading (in Japan) with the historic lineup on the stairway paintings. Thanks for the big hint in your composition (the markings on the fare gate doors).

Middle row: Class 103, An old steamer, Class 185;
Bottom row:  Class 205, Class 233, Class 209.

The left side of the gate: EF65 1000's with class 25 sleepers for the Blue train "Sakura" service.
