central railway of peru. locomotive number 1029

Modified general electric dash 8-39c locomotive number 1029. That locomotive was a former Norfolk Southern number 8596, train passing through the district of ate vitarte to the east of the city of lima - Peru. photo taken in January this year.

In picture 2 we can see that the radiator hit somewhere, maybe a bridge or a tunnel. What is the gauge in Peru?

possibly collided with a tunnel or rocks fell from the mountain and hit that part.
