Very nice photos. Just noticed a second viaduct in that first pic. Would that be broad gauge track. ??

DK, as far as I know, both bridges are the North Eastern Standard Gauge Line.

can you provide the horse power and tractive effort in the 3 types of engines in your pictures?  Thanks.

Thanks.  I was wondering how power full those engines were since they look long and maybe heavy but after your info it appears they are very close ours in the U.S.

With the exception of the Chinese built SCR locomotive
they are American locomotives repackaged for 
Australia.

Nice sceneries. Interesting that Australia use only those bus style cab . Why?

Weight, the locomotives are weight limit with
lighter frames and fuel tanks are smaller even
though distances can be long. Beyond that on
some lines they can't fill the fuel tanks fully.
