Today morning I found the grain train J160 leaving EVP yard and I could wait for it one kilometer ahead at Km 626. That was a seventy eight grain car train coming from Pirapora (EPP) branch in the West and  it was on the way to the Tubarão port in the city of Vitoria, ES in the East;

1) The train crossing the viaduct of Km 626 over a road  of Vespasiano city;

2) J160 is getting speed as the tail leaves the yard one kilometer behind;

3) Running at Km 626. The train will get Vale rr mainline about 30 km ahead.

I can't believe those huge GE diesels are riding on that tiny, skinny narrow guage line!  You have to wonder why they haven't gone to standard guage yet???  It just seems so unstable given the size and weight of the trains.

Pedro:  question.  VLI grain trans on the narrow guage:  What is their speed limit?

The maximum speed are 60km/h on mainline, but on the branches they can run from 20 to 40km/h.
