Good roll-by.  This fully loaded oil-can train 87 S210-264 left Negishi at 12:57, bound for Hachiouji (EAT 14:41)

Real PSR (Precision Scheduled Railfanning) at its best. :-)

I haven't spent much time in the Yokohama area in recent years, but I was amazed at the redevelopment/makeover last year, when I made a quick stop at JR Yokohama Station to visit a stage for a stamp rally.

Sakuragicho Station was the terminus for the Tokyu Toyoko Line when I used to frequent the "classic" Yokohama that still had much of Showa Era left. Most of that Yokohama is gone now. Anyway, thank you Hiroshi-san for the quick report, including the elevated shots of the cruise ship!

cchan006-san.

It was like a Japanese version of Sagrada Famila-ish development.
The city of Yokohama introduced a new bus route from the Yokohama station to the Yamashita Park.
An articulated bus, a.k.a. "Bayside Blue," was commissioned. See the second photo, at the bottom, of a blue bus on the bridge.

The Negishi line commuter EMU, class E233, followed the oil-can train.

Note: The oil-can train branched out from the Negishi line at the north side of Sakuragicho. The line is called the Takashima line.

Thanks for the collector car photos as well as the cherry blossoms from the start of the season. Should have some wonderful blossoms the next several days!

Japan's car culture is robust - it's possible to have both that AND trains coexist in a society. Many years ago, I had a friend who lived in the Yokohama area and it's easier to import cars if you live near a major port.

In Tokyo neighborhoods I've strolled through, I see more JDM ("Japan Domestic Market") cars like Prince Motors (ancestor to Nissan Skyline), Toyota Sports 800, and its non-sport sibling Toyota Publica.

Showa Era (a.k.a. Steinzeit Era) still lives!

It's nice to see 50+ year designs in Japan's streetcar systems, whether in Tokyo or all the way west in Nagasaki. This despite #7702 being modernized on the inside.
