It's a Holiday in Cambodia: The Movie(s)
Author: NMlurker

I do not normally do videos but as one of the few Westerners to ever railfan Cambodia I wanted to document as much as I could. So here are the two departures on February 26, 2025 which was a Wednesday. Cambodia is a very interesting place to visit. One day we visited one of Pol Pot's prisons as well as the Killing Fields outside Phnom Penh. The temple ruins of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom are among the most visited sites in southeast Asia. China has built a large, modern airport outside Siem Reap (gateway to the temples) to facilitate the visitation and Phnom Penh will be getting a new airport to replace its current fairly small airport.

1. The 6:40 AM train to Battambang departed at 6:46 AM with a low number of passengers. As Battambang is not a tourist town, all passengers appeared to be locals.

2. The 7:00 AM train to Sihanoukville departed at 7:01 AM with a closer to capacity passenger count. As Sihanoukville is more of a coastal tourist town, there were considerably more non-locals, i.e., tourists, and with luggage.

Two nice videos. I like the sound of the RDC. The yard is beautifull and very clean.
Thanks for share these videos with us.

Thank you very much for the series you have posted on Viet Nam and Cambodia. Trains in Cambodia are nicely painted and appear to be clean at least on the outside.
