Drone views of Wilson Lobato yard (Brazil)
Author: pedrop

On June 27 I decided to spend my birthday railfaning in the morning, so I decided to get more drone vies of Wison Lobato yard  (EWL).  Here are some pictures.

1) We can see the old Wilson Lobato station in the center of the photo. The small shops and fueling facilites are on the right. EWL station is now closed and all switching operations are controled from the shops office;

2) The upper side of EWL yardseen towars North. We can see the old Lafarge cement factory branch at  right. The branch was closed about fifhteen years ago since the new cement group Nacional decided to use trucks to deliver the cement. The factory can be seen here Nacional Cement Co

3) Another view of EWL yard, now seen towards South with Pedro Leopoldo city in the background.

6) The big BB40-3 8136 and 6506 seen here are the units used to lead the rail trains produced in EWL welding yard.

7) A quartet of U20C near the locomotive shops. These units work in the Pirapora branck, getting grain trains to EWL yard where they are formed to be sent to Vale mining mainline to Vitoria Es port;

8) Flat cars scrapped in the yard;

9) EWL yard serves the CNS (former Holcin) cement factory.

10) A view of CSN cement plant seen towards EWL yard (far in the background);

11)  MRS hopper cars loaded with slag on CNS tracks;

12) For those who likes fishing, there is a nice fishing area in Wilson Lobato.

That´s al for today!

Thanks for sharing. Look at the ffront porch fo the diesel in photo six! It looks that you could have an outdoor party with a grill and picknick table on it.
