Vale G16 rebuilt by EMD (Brazil)

Hi, today, after a long time without a railfaning trip, I visited Prudente de Morais town to see the Vale G16 that was rebuilt by EMP plant nearby. The unit came to EMD about an year ago, and was delivered to VLI today to be sent to Vale mining. It received a new cab as major detail. 

1) The new cab is not so nice like the original G16 cab, but for sure it is more confortable to the crew;

2) A rear view;

3) Top view.

Neat stuff. Those front proches on the BB40-2's coud easily house a BBQ and some chairs for a crews lunch.

Thanks for posting this Pedro. I'm curious as to why they'd rebuild a 567 engine instead of repowering it though...

I imagine Vale like them for light switching operations and it is better to keep the same prime mover.
