International Railroad Discussion > Brand new SD70ACe-BB here in town (Brazil)Date: 09/14/25 14:29 Brand new SD70ACe-BB here in town (Brazil) Author: pedrop Yesterday Saturday 13/9, EDM of Brazil delivered the first of eight new meter gauge SD70ACe-BB ordered by VLI. The unit run empty from EMD plant to EVP yard here in town as train L717, where it joined the BB40-3 8127 on Sunday 14 to take the C717 train of empty gondolas to Eldorado yard - EEL. The unit will be sent with an empty grain to the east where it will be allocated to run in the Paulista Division of the VLI grain trains heading to Santos, Sao Paulo port through Rumo rr network. Here are some pictures taken yesterday night and today noon.
1 - 2) Unit 6192 starts a new series for the VLI SD70ACe-BBs: 6192 - 6199; 3) A beautifull homeless dog lives in the station area and joined me while I was there taking pictures there. 5) The builder's plate; 6) The crew switched the Vale and VLI BB40-9Ws from track 4 to 2 and moved the SD70 with the U20C 3828 and 2697 to track 4. Then. The Dash 9s moved to Nova Granja yard (ENG) to the night switching operations with limestone trains there. 8) While the local crew switched the empty locomotives on tracks 2, 3 and 4, Vale log train C176 arrived on track 1 and the engineer Henrique who brought the SD70 to the yard, took a ride back to home; 9) BTW, this is one of the last log trains to Suzano Cellulose plant. The eucaliptus plantations around here reached exaustion. Now they need to wait a few years to the plantation be ready again to the harvest. Here they are ready to depart from EVP to ECA yard where it will be waiting a "window" to go ahead;

Those are antennas for PTC, GPS and Cell phone.
