Wabtech locomotive for Australia (Brazil)
Author: pedrop

Yesterday (09/27) afternoon, I went to Prudente de Morais yard (EPM) to take a look on the couple of new dual cab Wabtech locomotives undergoing testing there. They are part of a 17 units order done by CBH in Australia with Wabtech of Brazil. There are engineers and technicians from Brazil, US and India  in the team that are testing them. I use the drone to get some views while unit 202 was resting in the yard. Unit 201 was on the tracks undergoing the testings between EPM yard and ESL yard, this one just in front of EMD locomotive factory.

1) Top view;

2) It is long;

3) Radiator and cab.

20) Before I come back to home, I could watch the trio of U20C yard switchers coupling to the rear end of the empty log train  C675. The couple of BB40-2 yard switchers leaded the train and were heading to the Multlift Co. loading facility about  ten kilometers ahead.

21) I also took a look at the Multilift log facility and could watch the machines unloading the tri-section trucks. They use three machines to unload the trucks. The first one unload the last section;  the second one unload the middle section and the last one unload the first section. It is done in that way to prevend trucks lines inside and outside the Multilift Co. Each tri-section trucks carry 75 metric tonnes of log. They receive about 150 of those trucks a day there.

That's all.

Pretty amazing technology + brute force.

I was VERY disappointed that you did not fly your drone in through the cab window for a close-up look at the control stand... LOL.

"Railfaning" sure has changed a lot during the last decade.  Thanks for your time and effort, Pedro.

Thanks for the nice photos/video of the interesting narrow-gauge locomotives for Western Australia (CBH).  Here's the Wikipedia page for previous classes of their locomotives:

Well, a friend of mine took this pic of CBH dual cab locomotive in Wabtech plant today. The painting scheme looks simple and not beautifull.

Looks somewhat like a "torpedo Geep", with the torpedos slung beneath the frame instead of on the roof.
