International Railroad Discussion > The first two EMD SD70BBJ from Brazil to AustraliaDate: 10/13/25 18:09 The first two EMD SD70BBJ from Brazil to Australia Author: pedrop Today I received a call from a friend saying that the trucks to carry the first two battery powered SD70BBJ locomotives produced by EMD of Brazil arrived at the plant in Sete Lagoas. In one or two days the trucks will take to road bound to Rio de Janeiro port to be loaded into a ship to Australia. I am not in my town these days and I imagine I can meet the trucks on the road in the next weekend. I asked friends to try to see it on the trucks leaving EMD plant. Let's see if we can have pics of them without the canvas EMD use to cover the locomotives sent to the costumers by truck.

For while, I have only this small pic published in the Instagran. I hope to see it on the road too.

Looks like the bogies are shipping separately, any chance to get a picture of those? They could ship in 3 pieces, two sub-bogies and the span bolster.
Dave Date: 10/22/25 15:59 Re: The first two EMD SD70BBJ from Brazil to Australia Author: pedrop Dave, this time EMD of Brazil treated these units as big secret. I have the pics when it was testing here on the broad gauge MRS rr. I imagine they use the same trucks and narrowed them to standard gauge later.

The second one is also on the same road but far behind this one. In one or two weeks it can reach the port in Rio de Janeiro.
