International Railroad Discussion > Tokyo Waterfront train in Shibuya JapanDate: 11/02/25 17:32 Tokyo Waterfront train in Shibuya Japan Author: erielackawanna TWR Rinkai Line 70-000 series EMU No. 70-090 passes Koshinzuka-dori grade crossing in Shibuya, Tokyo. The Rinkai Line is operated by Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit (TWR), a third-sector company jointly owned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and JR East. The line connects Osaki with Shin-Kiba, linking the JR network with the waterfront area.
The 70-000 series train here was from the last batch, built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries 2002 and 2004. They operate through services onto the JR Saikyō Line, providing direct access between Saitama and the Tokyo waterfront. 10/13/24 Charles Freericks Edited 1 time(s). It's tough to compose a shot looking north from where you were standing... great job. And nice catch of the TWR Class 70-000 EMU. I'll include a video of TWR EMUs I caught at Shinjuku, while waiting for a late freight train (#3086) to show up. I got lucky and caught the brand new Class 71-000 EMU (2nd clip), which started service only about a month ago. Last two clips are video of the two 100th Anniversary wrapped Yamanote Line E235s that I intercepted at Kanda Station later on the same day. Enjoyed this post, and looking forward to more great stuff from Japan from you. You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! |
