The train operates on the Shōnan Monorail Enoshima Line, a 7.0 km suspended SAFEGE monorail between Ōfuna and Shōnan-Enoshima, opened in 1970. The 5000 series, introduced from 2004, is built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, uses VVVF inverter control, and runs in two-car formations under 1,500 V DC overhead supply. Nishi-Kamakura is a nice residential neighborhood on a hill, as shown in your very well-composed photo. In this video, I try to show the cab view of the area as the monorail heads north (and east) to Nishi-Kamakura, 2nd clip. I try to capture the monorail "yard" to the south (or SW) from Shonan-Fukasawa, last 2 clips. First one going south, and last one going north with the video in slow motion. Look for the orange maintenance vehicle in both clips. You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! |
