#2053 was the old number for the Toyota Long Pass Express, running on the same time slot. Don't know exactly when the Fukuyama Rail Express as #59 took over the same schedule, but at least 4 years ago (2021), if not earlier. The train comes into Shin-Tsurumi (the name on the freight side) as #60, normally pulled by an EH500 locomotive, then switched to EF210 here - 20 minutes to do that in the schedule. #60/#59 originates in Morioka and terminates at Ajikawaguchi (one of several freight terminals in Osaka Metro area). The number switches as inbound/outbound direction changes at "Tokyo" (Shin-Tsurumi/Shin-Kawasaki), like west/east on the Southern Pacific is centered in San Francisco. Odd = outbound, even = inbound. Enjoyed the writeup in your previous post. Date: 11/12/25 05:50 Re: JRF EF210 with Fukuyama Rail Express Author: erielackawanna cchan006 Wrote:

Looking back at my pictures from that morning and thinking back on what I saw, I now realize that just prior to most southbounds, I would see an EH200 head into the yard by iteslf and pass an EF210 hearing north. Now in hindsight (and with number matching), I realize I was witness an engine change. |
