International Railroad Discussion > EFE Chile vintage train to grape harvestDate: 03/13/26 18:13 EFE Chile vintage train to grape harvest Author: masterphots Last Sunday EFE ran a vintage train to a vidimia (grape harvest fiesta) at a winery in Moilina, about 125 miles south of Santiago. The 200 passengers were bussed from the station to the nearby winery.
I was going south for a family gathering anyway so stopped at Molina for the train's arrival. I also discovered a big sawmill and timber loadout across from the station. Here's a photo of the winery train arriving behind GE-Alco No. 16005, as well as SDL39 2342 (former Milwaukee/WC #585) with a log train. The timber will be used to make cellulose. Most all is harvested from alamo tree farms. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 03/13/26 18:19 by masterphots. |
