Nothing major, just cutting off the beginning and end a bit to shorten them. Any advice?

If you're using an older version of Quicktime you'll have to upgrade to the latest version. The latest version installs iTunes whether you want it or not. However, iTunes is easily uninstalled. I think it's annoying that Apple forces the install when it should be optional. OTOH... Microsoft has been doing the same thing for years.
