Jpeg is nice and all, but RAW (*.NEF) is the
cat's meow... If you're into quality :-)

There is also a setting on some cameras to store a JPEG and also a NEF (Nikon's RAW format) with each capture/exposure. I have the JPEG as a smaller file size so that it doesn't eat up memory space too fast. The smaller JPEG works well with posting on TO and also my PBase gallery.
