Advice on antenna mag mount
Author: twropr

My dog chewed up the RG58 cable.  The 1/2 length antenna I have is made by Browning.  The mount I found worked best was made by Laird; however, when I went to their website, they had so many variations of the same model I was overwhelmed.  All I want is one that fits the Browning and is nice and tight so that weak signals come in.
Thanks!
Andy

Andy,

If the mount on your antenna screws over a threaded piece @1" in diameter it is most likely
a NMO mount.  This is the most common mount for mobile VHF antennas.

If that is the case, I'd go with a Larsen mount from Universal Radio
Model number: NMOMMR or NMOMM.

If the base of  your Browning antenna is different from what will fit the NMO
series, please post the model number, a photo or a more detailed description of the
base mounting.

Be Well,

If you're  looking for a NMO mount magnetic mount, look at this one: https://www.amazon.com/MAGNET-MOUNT-ANTENNA-BASE-CONNECTOR/dp/B00EUI6GPQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480657650&sr=8-2&keywords=nmo+magnetic+mount+bnc

It's a magnetic Mount antenna with a BNC connector that works with most scanners. I have a couple of them and they work very well. Good hunting!
