https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?9,4321028 I have been using a used Windows XP PC,(Un plugged from Internet) with an ATI video capture card, along with a good VCR, plus other equipment, to convert VHS to Digital, gets pretty geeky, but results are better than those "VHS TO DVD" Combo Units they used to sell. Now only problem, is the time it takes to convert each tape in real time, at 2 hours per tape! Care to share?...........Yes No Problem Later, Thanks Jim Baker Riverside, CA Date: 08/30/17 07:13 Re: Use for older PC's Author: gandydancer4 Most of my VHS tapes are in 240 dpi. Pretty good for late 80s/ early 90's but now pretty poor. Any way to enhance them digitally like some producers have enhanced 8mm and 16mm film? A noob needs to know. Thank you.

In 2010 I studied, and gathered video "capture" hardware, following the recommendations found on a site called "The Digital FAQ" Same year (2010) stumbled into a STILL NEW IN BOX Mitsubishi VCR with Time Base Correction. Made about 2002? Which is similar to the Top of Line JVC VCR's made at the time. So hardware Workflow for video capture is: Mitsubishi VCR w/TBC. Additional AVtoolbox 8710 TBC. (Blue Jeans S-VHS Cables). ATI 9600XT Video card. Win XP PC. ATI multimedia center software. Capture in .AVI using Huffyuv codec. Transfer Capped files to win PC for editing and conversion to .mp4.
