What machine voice transmits these words ?
Author: Markedup

I hear these on NS road channel in Fort Wayne Indiana.
Here are some examples. Not exact quotes.

"pullback protection override."

"Brakepipe fully changed."

"NS52538 brake recovery complete"
then:"Brake recovery incomplete, procedure error , out"

"Brakelights fully charged"

Thanks

Mark

If you're asking what is making these transmissions, They are the radio response from a RCL (Remote Control Locomotive).

"Pullback protection override":

I'm pretty sure the last one is not "Brakelights fully charged" but is again, "Brake-pipe fully charged". This means that there is enough air in the brake system and the train or engine is ready to move.

Wow, what a quick response.
Who would have thunk it?
Not me.Now I know.

I only hear these transmissions from my home, where
responsibilities keep me from getting out watching trains anymore.

Thanks

Mark

I was occasionally hearing a "radio" voice on the railroad radio where I worked and could not figure it out. It would say, "Your speed is too fast," or "Your speed is too slow," but usually it said "Your speed is ok." I finally asked a train in the area if they were hearing it too and they told me it was from the power plant at Kingston, TN and was for coal trains that were unloading. It was just under certain conditions I was hearing it.

The audio is a computer generated voice; CANDO developed belt packs that
all sound very similar, same disjointed voice, similar instructions.
Around here CN uses their channel 01 161.415 for transmission from the belt pack,
a pain if you're also using the same frequency to listen for other railway operations.

Our automatic garage doors would open and close when I turned on our vacuum tube TV set but that was a long time ago.
