manual scanner recommendation needed
Author: rhotond

I have some very old pictures that I want scanned. They have become integral with the clear plastic(?) cover and the album page. The pages are very old and will not tolerate removing from the album. Any recomendations as to a good hand held scanner that I can manually scan them with.

TIA

Sounds like a camera with a polarizing filter and some sort of overhead support and lighting is in order. Maybe check around B&H site for ideas.

A flatbed scanner needs the material to be flat againest the glass. Folks had been using Epson scanners as an example.

A "copy stand." You can improvise one with a tripod and a few table lamps for less than the commercial models. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Copystands/ci/711/N/3715154809
