CSX (RF&P) Railfan question
Author: rustyr0824

Greetings all.
First off I found a great page you might not have been aware of.
Just look for: Virtual Railfan Live Ashland VA
Has great action on the RF&P.
Which leads me to my question.
Between traffic cameras, weather cameras, or public cameras at parks or what have you.
Are you aware of cameras that would allow one to watch any part of the RF&P besides the above mentioned site.
As one knows you can use Amtraks map or Transit Docs map from the same data to determine roughly where an Amtrak train is located.
But freight railroads do not have something similar.
So when you are heading out to trackside it's always a guess whether you will see a train or not.
Yes you can have a scanner, but sometimes those don't even help.
So being an armchair railfan I was wondering if there was a more electronic means to follow CSX, Amtrak and VRE trains along the RF&P.
Thanks
Rusty

Would ATCS Monitor work in your area? I had the software installed when I lived in northwest Indiana, and it seemed to work pretty well. I haven't used it in a couple of years and no longer live in that area.

I'm sure you'll get some response from more knowledgeable railfans here.

No ATCS capability on the RF&P Sub. No radio codeline, it is either satellite or fiber optic.
