Writing metadata to scanned images
Author: ARP

I am in the process of having scanned several thousand slides and negatives. Before each batch is scanned I fill in a spreadsheet with photographer/date/description, etc. for the original images. What computer program can I use to write the spreadsheet data to the image files in bulk? I.e., if I have a computer folder with a thousand JPEGS (0001.jpg, 0002.jpg, 0003.jpg, . . . 1000.jpg) and an Excel worksheet with the image data in the same order as the files, how can I get the worksheet data written into the JPEG metadata? I want to avoid typing the metadata into each image file one file at a time.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Thanks, trainjunkie, that does look helpful, lots of info and will take a while to digest.
